Marvel’s Spider-Man has sold 1.5 million copies on PC alone

After years of true exclusivity, Sony has slowly but surely been bringing its first-party PlayStation titles to PC. One of the bigger releases to drop onto the platform so far is Marvel’s Spider-Man. Having launched on PC last August, Sony has now revealed that the PC port of this much-loved title has so far sold over 1.5 million copies.

As part of its most recent fiscal earnings report, Sony spoke on the success of its ‘Key New PC Releases’ – namely Marvel’s Spider-Man and The Last of Us Part I.

First up: Spider-Man. Since its launch on PC back on the 12th of August 2022, the remaster of the 2018 PS4 title has sold over 1.5 million copies (as of the end of FY22), bringing in more than $50 million in revenue from PC alone.

The second game Sony discussed was The Last of Us Part I. Having only released a few months ago on the 28th of March 2023, during its first 4 weeks on the market the PC port of this critically acclaimed title sold 368,000 copies, generating $15.5 million in revenue.

While a somewhat modest result so far, it is worth noting that the PC port of TLOU Part I launched in a less-than-ideal state, with many mid and low-end PC’s suffering from major performance and texture issues. That said, these quirks have since been ironed out, and so it will be interesting to see how the game performs over the next many months.
