The mathematical ‘brains’ of the computer. The CPU is the core of the system that interacts with all other devices. It makes sense that this should be considered when choosing our custom computer. If you plan on just browsing the internet, a base model CPU would be fine. Dual and Quad core processors help keep things moving whilst processing multiple background tasks at once.
Overclock your CPU to reach higher performance speeds at the cost of heat and power.
Select a higher spec CPU cooler to keep the temperatures low.
Rest assured that we fully stress test each overclock to ensure stability and temperatures are under control.
Choose the best option for your needs and budget. We have started the base model with the current market recommended amount of RAM suitable for most day to day computing. However if you do require a machine capable of more advanced tasks such as large excel spreadsheets, many applications open at the same time, or even user switching within Windows, you may wish to opt for more. Basic rule of thumb is :- The more the merrier with 64-bit operating systems and provides an element of future proofing.
Each computer comes as standard with internal graphics, but if you need more 3D capabilities for games, modelling etc, you may wish to add a card to suit.

M.2 SSD Drives save valuable real estate in your system by fixing directly to the motherboard as a small card. Not only does it save space in your case for other storage options, but being directly connected to the PCIe lanes, it also gives a nifty performance boost as well. There are currently two types of M.2 SSD Drives on the market:
M.2 SSD (AHCI) this mirrors the current technology of the 2.5" SSD Drives commonly found in many systems and as such, is more compatible and gives similar read/write speeds to traditional SSD drives. Around 550mb/s Read and 550mb/s Write is about as fast as it gets.
M.2 SSD (NVMe) Has been developed from the ground up to optimise performance for this application. It gives much improved speeds over SSD / M.2 AHCI and some of the high end ones are giving 3200mb/s Read and 1700mb/s Write

This will be the disk for your Operating System. Usually faster the better. There is a compromise however with speed vs. capacity vs. price. Solid State Disks (SSD) are very fast, but are smaller and relatively expensive, where as traditional mechanical SATA drives are inexpensive, slower but very large capacity.
