Hi my name is Rick.
I am a Dad of 2 (7 & 10 yr olds).
I designed this PC specifically to be a low-cost option for parents to buy for their kids., ready for back-to-school time.
If your kids are like mine, they enjoy games like Roblox, Minecraft & Rocket League. During lockdowns they also needed a computer for working on their school work on Seesaw and Google Classroom.
I wanted to put something together that was made from good reliable parts, low cost and upgradeable to grow with the kids.
I based the system on the very popular AMD AM4 platform which allows for many upgrades from processor, RAM, graphics and storage. All the core components can be changed for more powerful options, but the very least – it does the key tasks it needs to right now.
I also wanted it to look good too, so I chose an inexpensive but high quality case that has lighting on the front, and a cooler that keeps things running nice and cool whilst looking awesome. The result is the Neophyte PC.
