FAQ

Why choose Dream PC?

We have been making a name for ourselves since we started in business in 2016. Our service is our strongest point, after our PC build quality. Before 2016, we built thousands of computers in the UK, so we have been around a while and have a great method in building good computers.

A technician checks each order to make sure there are no compatibility issues, we communicate openly and regularly to keep you up to date, and our build tracker board gives you LIVE updates at all times.

You need a good, reliable PC and our quality parts reflects that. We only use trusted, tried and tested parts manufacturers, sourced from local market distributors. This means we don’t generally need to wait for weeks on end to get replacements, and manufacturers welcome us as one of their own.

Do you ship internationally?

We can ship worldwide, but we don’t recommend it, due to costs involved. Plus if a fault develops then it can be very expensive to return back to us for repair.

We ship to all Australia states & territories. SA, NSW, VIC, QLD, WA, TAS, NT, ACT are all included.

We also allow local pickup.

Delivery costs are provided at the checkout so you can gauge the costs involved. Australia deliveries are all automatically insured, international deliveries can be provided on a case-by-case basis.

If in doubt, just ask.

Do you build it for me?

Yes – all of the PC’s on this website are built for you. Treat this like a car configuration tool, or even a pizza order.

PC vs. Car: When ordering a car, you choose what interior you like, the wheels, the spoiler etc and the factory builds the car to order. We do the same for PCs.

PC vs. Pizza: When ordering a pizza, you choose the dough, sauce, toppings and the shop cooks the pizza just how you like it. We do the same for PCs.

You dream it, we build it.

Can I buy the parts so I can build it myself?

No, this is not what we are about. We don’t want to concern ourselves with computer parts, chairs, phone chargers and power banks because it is just noise to us. We don’t want to detract from our core business – building great computers for you.

This way, we know what we sell, we know it inside and out, and we can really get in close to our customers, suppliers and manufacturers with strong relationships so that we can ensure our PC’s are built expertly each and every time.

When you have an issue with one of our computers, we can give you the full attention you deserve.

Can I upgrade my PC later?

Yes – we actively encourage you to get stuck in and upgrade any components you see fit. This does not affect your warranty with us. The best part about custom PCs is that they are very modular, so you can upgrade pretty much any part in the system to make it perform better. This makes your PC a longer term investment than a pre-build, or console.

If you’d like to upgrade your PC, feel free to let us know and we can guide you on what can be achieved, whether you decide to buy the upgrades from us, or somewhere else.

If I open my PC will it void warranty?

No! You will not void any warranties by opening up your PC. You may however void individual manufacturer warranties if you open up components individually and cause physical damage to it. Manufacturers may not like that.

If you are just opening up the PC to install new hardware, or change something out, that’s totally ok. Go ahead.

For more information about our terms, please see our terms & conditions page.

What is the warranty / service?

We offer a range of warranties to suit your needs.

Our base included warranty is a 2 year return to base warranty.

We do offer extended on-site warranties extend parts up to 5 years with our Diamond warranty. For more info on our warranty levels, please see our warranty table

How long does it take to build a PC?

Our target is to build your computer within 6-12 working days. We pull out all the stops to get it done on time.

If the build is looking like it won’t be achieved in time due to  lack of available stock, we’ll discuss with you to let you know and see if you would like to wait, or change.

We also offer a Fast-Track option which is a great way to get things moving in 3-5 working days. This is only achievable when you see that all your parts are showing as ‘IN STOCK’. If we need to order parts in for the build, Fast-Track is not available, but we shall still treat your build as #1 priority over other non-Fast-Track builds.

Contact us if you are unsure which option works best for you, or if you would like to check availability on any parts.

How much does shipping cost?

Shipping is calculated at the checkout based on our standard PC box size.

We appreciate that not everyone likes certain couriers so we give you a few options so you can choose your preferred one.

We ship primarily to Australia. We also are able to ship worldwide but it does start to get a bit pricey outside of the country.

Are there any hidden costs?

No! The price you see on the PC configuration page is the absolute cost to get it to you.

  • We don’t charge Credit card fees.
  • We don’t charge for delivery insurance.
  • We don’t sting you for extra warranty you didn’t ask for.
  • We don’t charge you extra for better packaging
Some companies charge extra for better packaging. (wow) We do this as free, because we want to make sure it gets to you safely!

Is there a showroom / shop front?

No, we are online order only.

However, that said – if you wish to come in and speak to us, we are happy to organise an appointment for you to speak to a tech. We’d happily help you choose what you want in your new PC. It’s not that we are afraid of seeing people, it is just that our business focus is Australia wide and our orders are all online. Physical stores cost a lot of money.

Are the parts genuine?

Absolutely, yes!

We source all our parts from genuine, authorised distributors in Australia. We have great partnerships with manufacturers such as ASUS, Antec, Deepcool, EVGA and Microsoft.

Our Microsoft licenses are either retail or OEM, authorised via indirect partnership with Microsoft Australia. We report all our purhases to distributors and manufacturers so we can continue to strengthen our foothold in the market in order to achieve better deals for you.
